Mark 12 Mod 1 Torpedo Gyroscope

This gyroscope would have been installed inside a Mark 12 Torpedo as the guidance system, keeping the torpedo on course for its target. Mark 12 Torpedoes were launched from Destroyers from 1928-1945, and only about 200 were ever made. These torpedoes were 22 feet 7 inches long, had a diameter of 21 inches, and weighed 3,505 lbs.
